Radian Arc and Supermicro Announce Collaboration to Combine GPU Edge and GPU MEC Technology for Cloud-Based Applications
Products will allow telecommunications operator network integration for cloud gaming, machine learning, and metaverse applications
PERTH, Australia – September 22, 2022 – Cloud infrastructure provider Radian Arc and leading information technology company Supermicro (NASDAQ: SMCI) today announced a collaboration to develop a GPU Edge and GPU multi-access edge computing (MEC) product for applications like cloud gaming, machine learning, metaverse, and more. These products will target existing customer setups, including telecommunications providers Telecall, Moratelindo, Celcom, STC Bahrain, and M1, as well as application partners Blacknut and Loudplay.
Radian Arc and Supermicro will be presenting their joint cloud solution at Mobile World Congress Las Vegas 2022 in the Supermicro Booth W2.824.
The GPU Edge and GPU MEC product will be integrated with telecommunications operators’ 5G networks to route information directly to towers. It will deliver lower latency for various applications and increase compatibility of high-performance AMD GPUs with 5G networks. Supermicro’s disaggregated servers have supported cloud-based applications for machine learning and AI training in the past. By implementing Radian Arc’s proprietary GPU Edge technology and AMD’s GPUs, the companies have developed an even more efficient, optimized, and cost-effective solution.
“Supermicro is a pioneer in server technology and cloud-based data center development. Together with AMD’s GPUs and our virtualized GPU solution, we can provide an unrivaled product for cloud gaming, metaverse, and other future-defining applications,” said David Cook, CEO, Radian Arc. “This collaboration is a milestone for both Radian Arc and Supermicro in expanding cloud capabilities of telecommunications operators around the world.”
“Supermicro’s collaboration with Radian Arc delivers industry-leading cloud infrastructure platforms for cloud gaming, machine learning, and metaverse customers,” said Don Clegg, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Supermicro. “Supermicro’s application-optimized systems, combined with Radian Arc’s proprietary GPU Edge technology, can extend cloud capabilities to telecommunications operators experiencing significant data growth who demand higher performance and lower TCO.”
